Getting Things Done With Your Internet Marketing To Do List
As an Internet marketer you should be very focused on your goal – whether it’s getting more sales, achieving higher quality leads or just building a trusting relationship with your target audience, you need to put in the work and be focused to make things happen. The purpose of this article is to give you a clear cut idea on how you too can go about getting things done with your Internet marketing to do list.
Get the Worst Done First
One of the largest hurdles you are going to have to deal with when you make your to-do list is actually acting on your items.
It’s easy to lose your focus if you don’t concentrate on taking regular and reliable action and you could wind up leaving a bunch of unfinished tasks on your list at the end of your day. If you want to work through this problem you need to keep your motivation levels high if you want to succeed. The best way to bring in this motivation is to get done with the most difficult task on your list first.
That’s right – those items go at the top of your list and you need to take care of them first in your day. Because you will have lots of energy and your productivity is at it’s peak during this time the difficult task won’t seem so difficult. Also, knowing that the worst on your list is done helps you feel more relaxed and enthusiastic about taking on the rest of your list.
Add Tasks to Your List, Not Goals
One of the main reasons that so many Internet marketers fail to finish their lists is that they start to feel overwhelmed. What happens is that they’ve added tasks to the lists that feel big enough to be goals on their own. A to-do list needs to contain a list of tasks that can actually help you achieve your primary goals.
These tasks should be small enough for you to achieve them in a short amount of time, so that you know for sure that you’re moving ahead towards your objective. You also want to include tasks that will help you find clarity instead of tasks that are vague. For example, “Get More Leads” is vague so it isn’t really a task, but “Call 5 Prospects” is a task that is clear and easily achievable.
Have a Purpose
Knowing how it needs to end is incredibly important when you start writing and working on your to-do list. If you don’t know what your over reaching purpose is, it is harder to keep up your gumption for finishing your list. What’s the point in attacking your to-do list all day day in and day out if you don’t understand the end goal (there’s more to it than just crossing things off of a list)? So sit down, take a piece of paper and write your main purpose and goal, and then devise your to-do list around it.
Last but certainly not in the least, it is important to know which direction you are moving in so that you know how to put forth a consistent effort and, at the end of every day, feel like you have gotten something done as you cross items off of your Internet marketing to do list.
