Email Copywriting – Guidelines For Beginners
As it turns out, email copywriting is apparently one of the most dominant advertising tools that can be utilized by online marketers, if they desire to grow their sales and develop rapport with their target audience. Although, if you are unaware of the quality or lack thereof, of your emails’ copy, you will appear to be feeble and immoral to your prospects, which entirely overthrows your original intention for writing a copy. The following article talks about what all points to keep in mind when writing an email copy, especially when you are starting out.
Make It Urgent
If you want people to consider your email important, it helps to bring in a time factor. Your readers probably receive dozens of offers every day, and you have to make the most of their attention while you have it -which is why urgency is such a crucial factor. You have to impress your readers with the idea that they have to act on your offer now or they’ll risk missing out on the opportunity.
You first want to put an irresistible offer in front of your prospects, and then convince them that they don’t have much time to think about it. The more urgent you can make your offer, the more likely it is that people will respond. However, when you’re creating any type of urgency, you should try to keep it as real as possible, so that your prospect doesn’t feel like you’re just hyping it up.
Make The Landing Page Match
When you’re doing email marketing, there is almost no time lapse between reading the email message and the rest of the promotion on your website. The connection between the email message and the landing page where you are sending your subscribers needs to happen very seamlessly. If the sales copy, the graphics in your email message or even the sales pitch should match the message on your landing page.
Your prospects might feel they have gone to the wrong site if these elements don’t match and might leave without creating a conversion. You should try to repeat the same elements on your landing page as used in your email copy. Also make sure that you’ve got the same tone of voice so that there is no mismatch between the email copy and the content on your landing page.
Be Careful Of Spam Filters
Using the wrong words in your emails could prevent people from ever seeing them. If the subject line of your email has a word like “free” or “money” in it, you’ll be triggering spam filters. You don’t want your emails to end up in readers’ spam folders, where they won’t even be seen in most cases.
It’s best to avoid words in your emails and subject lines that are likely to trigger spam filters. There are many reasons to use an autoresponder such as Aweber, and one of them is that they’ll warn you if your emails contain words that will cause problems.
In general, out of the aforementioned article it becomes evident that email copywriting is pretty easy if you are positive of the direction you are moving toward and are confident of your goals.
